We invite you to join this project. Combine being in the unspoilt nature with an opportunity to learn, discover and touch ancient cultures. Beside the enjoyment of your discovery process your effort will contribute to the preservation of croatian historical legacy. If you have ever had a desire to have a "hands on experience" in archaeology, we offer the very unique opportunity to work with the team recording ancient sites on public lands administered by the Zagreb Archaeology Museum.
Under the direction and mentorshipof professional archaeologists, participants are instructed in the lifeways of the ancients, proper site etiquette and archaeology methodology: mapping procedures, artifact identification and recording.
The current programmes offered are the location of Bukovac Cave where you will search for the early men Auragnicienne culture - the first artists in the human history, the preroman town of Liburni people where the life stopped in 4th century nobody knows why, and the Old Burg of Novigrad on the river Dobra.
This is a full day experience, approximately 8.00 am to 5.00 pm for small groups of about 7-15 participants.
Because these sites are unrecorded there is no telling what may be found: pot sherds, tools, theimplements used to make tools, petroglyphs or other art objects, all unseen since their makres abandoned them.
The price includes: airport transfer, accommodation in the vicinity of the each site on half board basis, lunch packages on site, lectures and mentorship of professional archaeologist, certificate of attendance.
